TÜV Austria, in response to the growing needs of the market regarding Environmental Claims has developed the Certification “Zero Waste-To-Landfill” which highlights the efforts of an organization to reduce its environmental impact, aiming at a continuous reduction of the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Zero Waste to Landfill
In the EU landfilling has almost been eliminated and alternative methods of rational management (recycling, composting) have prevailed. The certification is based on the analysis of the waste streama, the calculation of the mass balance and the Traceability.
If the audit is successful, an official certification is issued that states that the organization has been verified as a Zero Waste to Landfill Organization. The percentage (%) of waste that is recycled is stated in a form and in the logo that accompanies the certification.
